Here’s what the Globe had to say about last night’s game:
Madison Park 93, East Boston 72 – Spencer Braithwaite drained a 3-pointer with a minute left in the first quarter to give Madison Park a 17-9 lead. Little did host East Boston know that it would never get closer.
Braithwaite’s 37-point effort highlighted an impressive evening for the Cardinals (12-1), who cruised to a 93-72 win over the Jets (11-2). Center David Campbell added 22 points for Madison Park.
“The key is getting off to a great start and maintaining the intensity, which is a hard thing to do,’’ said Madison Park coach Dennis Wilson. “I think we had a couple of lapses, but other than that, we kept the pedal to the metal, kept the hammer down.’’
Last night marked the second meeting of between Boston City League powerhouses. On Jan. 6, East Boston rallied in overtime to earn a 91-82 victory.
“Coach told us to play with heart, play tougher than them,’’ Campbell said. “That’s what we did.’’
